My background includes 6 years working onboard cruise ships as a Guest Services Manager and Training Manager, recruitment, and 12 years in operations and human resources at luxury hotels such as, Fairmont and Hilton, at the executive level.

I am trained to use the International Coaching Federation model and code of ethics, but also offer coaching and consulting using a blend of personality assessments, building leadership skills, leading with emotional intelligence, cultural competency, crisis management skills, customer service excellence and team synergy.

What We Do and How Coaching Differs From Consulting and Therapy.

Often misinterpreted as advice-giving or just social media-heavy marketing, our Canada Coach Academy trained, certified international coaching involves:

International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics approach.
Deep Listening: Coaches are trained to hear what’s said—and what’s not—and reflect it back to you.
Powerful Questions: Think: “What’s the cost of staying stuck?” or “What belief is driving this choice?”
Accountability: Coaches help track your progress (and challenge you when needed).
Tools & Frameworks: Models (e.g., values clarification, saboteur awareness, somatic practices) tailored to your goals.

Consulting:

Leveraging education, academy training, and career experience we also offer consulting which does provide advice, expertise, tools and resources.

With coaching, the accountability and empowerment lies with the client and when you book a consultation, we equip you with the answers and solutions to your needs. Consulting is also confidential and ethical, but does not fall under ICF.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between a life coach and a therapist?

While both life coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas, while life coaches focus on helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being. It is forward facing, and is best fitted to people who have already recovered with therapy, or are in a stable frame of mind. At times, it can coincide with therapy treatments. Our chemistrycalls will help you to determine if life coaching is a fit for you at this time.

What is your approach to goal-setting?

Our approach to goal-setting is to help clients identify specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. However, we recognize research that shows goal-setting can have negative effects on people if they are overloaded and not carefully assigned, and monitored. We metaphorically help you "prescribe your own goals", monitor the effects and help to ensure that they are serving a purpose to you.

How do you handle confidentiality?

Confidentiality is of utmost importance at our coaching practice. We adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality. The only exception to this is in the event of a court ordered circumstance or if our coaches have reason to believe that a client is a danger to themselves or others.

Do You Prescribe Medication?

Life coaching is an unlicensed field, and unlike other psychiatric or medical professions, coaches cannot issue medication nor do they offer advice. True, ICF accredited approaches to coaching, give the client the platform to do more of the talking. Coaches use their education and experience to ask questions and guide clients towards their goal and their purpose. When executed appropriately, it is an incredible empowering experience that leaves you feeling more confident and with a higher purpose or self-worth.

Our coaches are trained at Canada Coach Academy and have or are in the final stages of receiving their diplomas and ICF accreditation.

Do You Offer Discounts?

During the chemistrycall, our coaches will determine your desired outcome and recommend a number of sessions. When multiple sessions are prebooked and prepaid, our coaches will offer a discount. They may also make some exceptions or offer promotional rates when clients have proof of financial hardship. Discounts are not guaranteed until a coach has extended one. Members will always have the option of discounted options to choose from.

Do I Have To Turn My Camera On During Sessions?

During Virtual Sessions, we ask that your camera is on to ensure that no one else is present. This is to ensure coach and client confidentiality and to enhance the connection. We do offer relationship and group coaching. However, some people prefer to have their camera off and so long as you are abiding by the waiver and confidentiality agreements, you may choose to have your camera off.
